My first post! Eid Mubarak!

Hi readers!

So, I wanted to start blogging properly as I feel like a lot of the things I'd like to represent doesn't get heard much. I would like to inspire fashionable Muslim girls from all over the world to embrace their style without feeling the need to let go of any religious or cultural boundaries. So I hope my blog builds a platform for Muslim girls and hope they enjoy reading it.

First and foremost I would like to say, EID MUBARAK!

The thing with Eid is it usually means stress for girls that like to dress up and go all out with their new Eid outfit. It's things like ' Oh god where do I start?' , 'Can't be bothered for the hunt', and 'I'm so last minute that I'm just going to wear what I've got' that I'm used to hearing so much. It's funny because Muslim girls in general expect this twice a year, Eid al-fitr and Eid al-adha. I'm sure many of you can relate.

It's not so much the shopping that's stressful, it's locating the right clothes that you can wear that's religiously suitable, culturally suitable ( so your nan isn't going crazy ) and socially on-trend. You want to be able to go to your nan's or any other family members house on Eid day without having to hear 'It's too short' or 'wear a long cardigan over that' and then be able to go out with your girls in the evening too. So my advice would be, Breathe! be patient, and plan!

For instance me personally, a week before Eid I have a browse in the stores, and this Eid I found a nice blouse, so first thing I did was try and put together an outfit that's on-trend but not too outrageous that my family would have a heart attack. So with the blouse I made sure it covered my bottom, so it was long enough not to buy a long jacket/cardigan. I then paired it with some nice skinny jeans and made my heels the statement piece. You just can't go wrong with the right pair of heels.

So, what I'm trying to say without babbling on too much is that it IS possible for you to be fashionable and Muslim. You just have to be patient because as Muslims we have make more effort with staying on-trend because of the boundaries we have, so our search is longer. However, with practice you start to know where to look.
